A Fitness journey

People often criticise others for either being too skinny or too fat, without knowing the effort it takes to lose a few pounds. People can either work out at home or hit the gym depending upon their preferences. A trip to the gym is a welcome relief after a long day where you can feel good about yourself

The road to fitness which some people take which can gain them fame and recognition often starts with a simple task to lose weight or other simple goals. This obsession with fitness dates back to the early man who used to have long hunting times and who need to be fit in order to capture their prey. A young bodybuilder who’s an inspiration to many is Ms. Akshata Kharvi who loves being fit along with balancing her academic life at St Aloysius College pursuing masters in mass communication and journalism

Akshata’s first professional state level powerlifting competition began after just 20 days of practice after joining a gym in Mangalore in 2018 following which she participated in a competition every month. Ms. Kharvi states, “I opted to participate in all competitions to overcome my stage fear, initially I was scared because other participants in my weight category were mostly experienced and international powerlifters.”

She further adds, “I never trained for a competition. I found it very tough initially to compete with experienced professionals to the extent that I was about to quit after my 3rd competition but then it struck me that everyone started must have from scratch which made me all the more determined to accomplish my goals”

Akshata’s workout journey started out in 2017 as a means to lose weight when she was in Bombay, but when she shifted to Mangalore for academic reasons, the hectic transition period  caused her to quit working out for a brief period. Initially when she was starting out, despite a goal of losing weight being set in her mind, she wasn’t serious.

Now Akshata loves working out so much that she constantly thinks about it and even at night she thinks of her workout schedule and mentions that “If I don’t workout for three or more days, my body starts to ache feeling the urge to lift something.”

“The pain after my workouts is worth it and I can die for the pain after working out; but I don’t easily get such pains,” she adds with a smile.

Just like Akshata there are lots of people who are made fun off due to their being either too fat or too lean, Let’s all draw inspiration from her and rise above these challenges which prevent us from staying fit.

Job satisfaction plays a crucial role in determining a potential employee’s future and job satisfaction can easily come to a person who follow their dreams.

Many inventions like the television, computers and many of the gadgets people use today came as a result of dreams. Paintings and drawings are dreams for some people while for others it is just a means to pass the time. Drawings have existed since ancient times when drawing were drawn on walls of caves.

Art changed the world in the past and with its aesthetics still continue to do so. In the 21st century art inspires many young budding artists. Along with pursuing her master’s degree she is a multi-talented person and of her talents is art. This young talented artist embarked on her journey of art ever since her parents taught her how to write and it came as a shock to her parents that she was left handed. That didn’t stop this budding artist from finding inspiration on the internet and eventually she grew and developed her own style.

She finds drawing to be relaxing and she finds herself being productive when she draws and she knows she has to have her full focus while drawing otherwise it would reflect on the canvas. She mentions that “I have often found inspiration online” and that “I do’t have the ability to copy a painting or paint realistically” she further adds that “I hardly paints these days, but when I do I put my heart and soul into it”’

Just l/ike Sneha there are many artists among us, some who may draw sketches on notebooks while bored in class or paint as a hobby and yet for some it can be a source for their livelihood and when they follow their hearts and dreams, they will succeed because when there is a will, there’s always a way
